Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Opening
Job Description:
Design of plumbing and HVAC for educational, healthcare, residential, institutional, and commercial projects for new and existing building renovations, including high rise buildings, using knowledge of international, ASHRAE and ASPE design standards and local state codes.
- Perform HVAC design engineering, including load calculations, air and hydronic systems distribution design, plant and equipment selections; prepare measuring templates, acquire field dimensions and construct as-built 3D models and layouts to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
- Perform plumbing design engineering, including load calculations, equipment and fixture selections, sanitary, vent, storm, water, natural gas distribution systems.
- Prepare design drawings for permits, bidding and construction in AutoCAD & Revit.
- Conduct site visits to projects to determine existing conditions and write field reports.
- Review submittals and RFIs and perform other construction responsibilities as needed.
- Prepare addendums, proposal requests (PR) and supplemental instructions (SI) for projects.
- Attend meetings with clients and prepare meeting notes as appropriate.
- Coordinate communications in relation to mechanical engineering with project team members, clients and the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Coordinate design solutions with other technical disciplines within the integrated project team.
- Assist in quality assurance reviews for all project disciplines.
- Organize and attend site visits for the purposes of investigation, surveying and recording of existing conditions.
- Attend construction meetings with job site observations confirming compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Guarantee excellence in the execution of work and ensuring a positive client experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in mechanical engineering, or a related field, plus passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E) exam.
Travel: The position requires travel to client sites nationwide once or twice per month (around 40% of the time).
Hours: 40/week, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: 44 Central St, Suite 4, Berlin, MA 01503 & remotely 2 to 3 days per week within 60 miles radius of the worksite
