MBTA Arborway CNG Bust Storage & Repair Facility, MA

In 2016 AKAL was retained by Dewberry to support the design on  HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Services for the new 342,000 SF Bus Storage and Repair Facility, for 118 vehicles. 

PVTA Springfield, MA

 AKAL provided HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Services for the new 278,000 SF Bus Storage and Repair Facility, for 150 vehicles. Included in the new facility was 27,000 SF office space, fueling equipment, bus-washing operations, employee parking, service bays and support facilities for operations. The total construction cost of the project was $65M.

Nantucket Memorial Airport, Nantucket, MA

AKAL created the addition of a new 35,000 s.f. terminal to the existing 10,000 s.f air terminal. AKAL designed the Fire Protection system for the entire airport building, consisting of a wet system in all floors, a dry system in attic areas and a dry agent system in the control tower. The fire protection was designed in accordance to the NFPA-13 standard.

Ryder Rental Maintenance Facility, Milford, MA

Ryder build a new 13,000 SF Truck Maintenance and Washing facility in Milford, MA. AKAL was hired to provide the HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection design.
